Good afternoon families,
Here are some highlights of our week together: -"This week at school we had our Christmas concert, I liked it because there was some pretty songs in it, I also liked it because there was lots of energy in some of the songs". Lucy -"In art we made paper snowmen, some were made with 2 balls and some were made with one looking up. This was for our Christmas concert". Isla -"We drew reindeer on a piece of paper, and they had red noses, green backgrounds and scarves with patterns. This was also for the Christmas concert". Sara -"Today we wrote about the performance last night, we did a lot of details in it. We told about what we did, my favourite song was The Holiday Ghost, because it had scarves in it". Ben -"This week we got our letters back from Santa at the North Pole. He gave us North Pole sunflower seeds and we get to plant them in the Spring for Mrs. Clauses and the Elves garden". Emma P -"Today we made mouses, because we read a chapter book about mouses. Its called Mouse and the Motorcycle and we wrote the title and author as well". Clair -"We made Elf legs with curly toes for the Christmas concert. Mine had reindeer on the shoes, and they looked really good". Nahla -"This week at school our Elf has been really silly, he is hanging from the ceiling. Our job today was to give a hug to someone". Josh -"I got to make 2 ornaments and eat 2 cookies last night at the Concert". Danny -"In math we are learning about patterns, like blue, blue, blue, green which is an AAAB pattern". Sebastien -"We wrote about a Winter scene by looking at a picture. We had to describe it or use sentences. I thought that the birds where flying South or seeing what Winter looks like". Emily Thank you for all the families who made it out to our wonderful Christmas concert last night! Our students did an amazing job. Important dates: -Christmas caroling starts next week in the gym in the morning! -Dec 21st Fun Lunch -Dec 21st Last day of school and Report Cards will be coming home -January 8th PD Day -January 9th First Day back Have a great weekend with your families :)

Here are some highlights of our week! Enjoy!! "This week at school we made mittens with patterns. Mine was Christmas colours and it went red, green, red, green. I also made a poodle in the middle of my mitten." Sara "We drew some Christmas art like reindeer, lights, and holly." Jax "We learned about patterns. A pattern repeats itself. A pattern is red, blue, red, blue, not red, blue, green, blue, yellow." Ashlyn "Today at school we went outside and looked for patterns in nature." Clive "Our elf challenged us to hi five 10 new friends today!" Charlotte "This week we started basketball in gym. We practiced bounce passing." Asher "We wrote about how to make and decorate gingerbread men. I would put icing on and holly berries on it for the eyeballs." Sebastien "We wrote about how to make gingerbread houses and I said you have to go buy your gingerbread house first and then put it together with icing and then put icing on it for the decorations." Emily VK "This week in choir we sang each song and some songs were called Hot Chocolate, Light a Candle, and Snowflakes falling." Lucy "We made winter trees with chalk pastels." Happy December 1st. Here are some highlights of our week together: -"Yesterday we had PJ and Stuffy day. I wore unicorn pajamas and I brought Beaks the bird". Charlotte -"Today was the last day of Sibbald U. We had a fairy party and also had juice rice crispy squares. We also brought all of our finding fairy stuff home". Eleanor -"In Sibbald U we got to finish building our cars, mine went the farthest". Sebastien -"In choir we learned a new song. It is called Light A Candle and it is a pretty song". Lucy -"Today our Elf came. Last year his name was Let it Snow. He brought us a book and a note. Our challenge is to be kind to everyone". Abby "Our Elf decorated the wall with an ornament and snowflakes". Emilia -"Today our Elf came and wrote a message on the board and he put up Christmas lights". Danny -"We got our Elf and we have not named him yet, he came in a little box and he left a note and a challenge and the challenge is to be kind for the rest of the year". Jayden -"In social studies we are learning about the community we live in. My community is called Lake Bonavista, I live close to the Recreation Center". Jessica -"We wrote about how to make hot chocolate. I liked writing about this". Joshua H -"In Art we made snowmen out of construction paper. We had to trace out the body and glue legs and arms together". Evelyn -"In Art we made our trees. First we started with the snow, then the trunk and we got to make a rainbow trunk. We used pastels and little paints". Maggie -"We wrote about our Elfs' from home. I wrote about Snow-Crystal she is a girl. I have had for 2 Christmases". Ashlyn Important reminders: -NO SCHOOL FRIDAY DECEMBER 8th -We have a challenge to look for Landmarks in our community. Tweet us back with your response. -Christmas Concert 6pm December 14th. (Length is 45 minutes. To follow with Christmas Cheer in Learning Commons). -Please wear Christmas colours, green, red or white. Also a Santa or Elf hat is needed for your child. |
