Good Afternoon!
Below are some highlights of our week! "Yesterday we drew people catching snowflakes on their tongue and we coloured them in with pastels." Luke "This week we wrote about a vacation that was special to us. We looked at a book called Pictures from our Vacation." Emma "This week at school we raced to 100 on the hundreds chart." Danny "In art we made these pictures where the heads were leaning back and trying to catch snowflakes." Clair "We looked at even and odd numbers and how numbers show up in different ways. We looked at a picture of dominoes and tried to find which one did not belong. The one that didn't belong was the one that had two even (two 4's) and all the other ones had an even and an odd number." Nahla "We finished our pumpkin books with the 'My Pumpkin' page. I drew a picture of my pumpkin and coloured it." Evelyn "We did yoga and we put our legs in the air and tried to touch our feet." Jett "We listened to a book called Even Steven and Odd Todd." Clive "We read book called Red and it was about a crayon that had a red cover, but he coloured blue." Dora "In music we are working on our Christmas songs. There is one elf that is Carol and she is grumpy and at the end she becomes happy." Avery "In Finding Fairies we made our terrariums and mine was a wild cat one and I made a little watering hole for them to drink from. I used green glitter for the grass." Eleanor "In Sibbald U we made little water colour heart pictures. They were bright colours. After we made the hearts we made snowflakes." Sara "In Sibbald U we got some stuff from the Maker Space and we are building Rube Goldberg machines. We used marbles." Good Afternoon on this snowy Thursday!
Below are some highlights of our week! "In math we had to show one less than 14 on the ten frames." Jessica "This week we sorted the candy and put them in the bags to give to the Veterans." Carson "We got hula hoops and we put chocolate in one, hard candy in one, and gummy candy in the other." Clair "Today we wrote about snow and the things that we can do in the snow in our TWAS." Isla "We started to do the pumpkin life cycle in our flip books. One of the parts it is the green pumpkin." Eleanor "We are still collecting food for the Veteran's food drive." Charlotte "We made nice cards for the Veterans. We thanked them for fighting so we could have freedom." Evelyn "In choir we learned a song called 'Hot Chocolate' and the other one was called 'A Million Little Snowflakes.' Nahla "We counted the candy for the Veterans and we got 367. We put 10 pieces in each bag." Ethan "We watched a story about how snow crystals are formed." Clive "In music we are learning songs for 'It's Christmas Carol' our Christmas play." Georgia If you haven't sent in your literacy photo please send it to your child's teacher as soon as possible! Thank you for all of your generous donations of candy and food for the Veteran's. -"In math we cut out our pumpkins, we estimated how many seeds where in the pumpkin. We did this in our table groups. My estimate was smaller than my actual". Georgia -"Today we had our school Remembrance Day Assembly. We laid wreaths, and we thought about all the people who fought in the War". Luke -"Rosie went home this week. She is from Chili". Jagger -"We got to do some fire writing this week". Joshua -"We wrote about Peace this week in our journals. I wrote that peace means to help out your neighbours". Emma -"Peace is having a good time at the hot springs, and going camping too". Dylan B -"We wrote about describing Peace using our 5 senses". Jessica -We wrote about belonging to a community. My community was Tap Dancing". Charlotte -"In our journals we wrote about what groups we were in. In a classroom group, family and sports groups". Jayden -"In Sibbald U we watched a video OK GO and we did Stop Motion". Asher -"We got our Spider booklets, we wrote about the Life Cycle of a Spider, Labelling the Spider, Describing Spiders, and Spider Facts". Isla -"In Sibbald U we made fairies out of pinecones and pipe cleaners".
